My pick of supermarket buys to cosy up your home this Autumn

My choice of supermarket buys this autumn

If you’ve read one of my previous posts about what I love about Autumn, and my Blogtober 2018 post about 5 things I love about Autumn,  you’ll have seen that I love cosy evenings at home.

I love throws and candles to make my lounge cosy to snuggle on the sofa watching great TV or a fabulous football game. I also have a ‘thing’ about bedding and like to refresh my bedding every season. No that I am retired and living on an NHS pension I do a lot of my shopping at supermarkets. I feel they sell great quality items that are on trend and at great value prices, often mimicking high end brands.

Here are a few of my finds this season

Throws

I have one on each sofa that I use to throw over me, hence the name, whenever I feel a little chilly.I think they are invaluable and for families with little ones or even when your big people are poorly they are useful for making your ‘patients’ feel extra comfortable.

Here are my pick this season

A cosy fur throw cosy up your lounge

Tesco Fox and Ivy grey faux fur

Pink shimmer to cosy up your lounge

Wilko soft pink shimmer

Cosy your lounge with this textured weave throw

Asda warm autumn tones weaved throw

Bedding

A change to seasonal bedding gives your bedrooms a super quick makeover, changing the look instantly. Last year I tried brushed cotton sheets for the first time when the temperature dropped outside. Even though I still have hot flushes and frequently throw my covers off they are still a lovely product and so soft to sleep on.

My picks:

Cosy up with daschund print brushed cotton bedding

Soft brushed cotton Daschund print bedding from Sainsburys

Autumnal plaid bedding set

Asda has this autumnal plaid design bedding set

Cosy up with bears and teepee bedding from Asda

Asda has a full range of beers and teepee designed bedding and accessories for younger members of the family

Vegan inspired Avocado bedding

Novelty Avocado Christmas bedding great for vegans

Other seasonal touches

Cosy up your lounge with this fox lamp

Fox lamp from Sainsburys

A dark plum tone for Autumn cushions

Plum and Gold cushions Wilko

Rustic look for Autumn

A rustic chalk board calender from Sainsburys

Matching bear and teepee accessories

Metching super soft brushed cotton bear and teepee cushion from Asda

Autumn cosy is incomplete without candles

Seasonal candle from Tesco

Cosy your lounge with new cushions

Red plaid soft feel cushions from Sainsburys

love the plaid throw from Asda and the lamp from Sainsburys! I’m a big fan of supermarkets for soft furnishings too. I was in B&M yesterday getting some paints for the kids and I spotted their cushions… I never look at the soft furnishings in there but they had some lovely ones. Definitely going to have a proper look soon. #blogtober18

Ah yes B&M another one of my favourite stores. I did pop in whilst doing my research for this. It stocks so many great items.

The calendar looks fab! I’m a big fan of tartan, flannel bedding in Autumn and winter. Got some lovely ones in Asda last year. Crossing everything they are back out this year so I can get more haha #blogtober18
