So yesterday I introduced this to you – what it is all about and who is involved.
Today then is Day 1 and I am reviewing a moisturiser.
I have chosen a budget product for this – Lacura Caviar Illumination Day Cream SPF15 from Aldi. Yes I can hear the laughter and the exclamations of Aldi!!!!
I have used their Lacura Q10 Restorative moisturisers for mature skins a few years now. They are fabulous products for the price and at my age I’ve tried them all – expensive creams and old low budget favourites like Nivea , but these are definitely my favourites. good products. They have also received beauty industry awards.
Therefore as they have now introduced a new ‘higher end’ product – The Caviar Illumination Day Cream – It claims to have revolutionary ingredients
All of Aldi’s Lacura® Caviar Illumination creams contain the revolutionary ingredient snow algae, which promotes collagen production in the skin. By using these products daily your skin will become more supple and smooth, creating a perfect base for any foundation or tinted moisturiser. Your make-up will sit flawlessly on top of a silky smooth base with the Caviar Illumination creams.
The Caviar Illumination collection contains 1 very special active ingredient, caviar. The benefits are countless. Its powerful anti-ageing ingredient helps moisturise your skin throughout the day, long after you have applied it in the morning. The Caviar Illumination Night Cream helps to promote skin restructuring, filling out and plumping any fine lines and leaving you with a youthful and radiant appearance by morning.
My normal Lacura Moisturiser is priced at £1.69 – this is a hefty £6.99! Although it was on offer for £4.99 when I purchased it. Still cheap for the claims it makes. I have been very disappointed in high end products in the past. This though is as fabulous as the rest of their products.
When applied it glides on like silk and has a delicate, pleasant fragrance. At first it felt greasy and I wasn’t sure it was for me. However, it was soon absorbed and my skin felt lovely and hydrated all day. It is perfect on its own for those no make up days and under make up.
My scores for this are:
Packaging: 100/100 – it comes boxed – a lovely silver box with purple lettering and the jar itself is the same. Looks very sleek and classy.
Price: 100/100 – obviously I’d love it at £1.69 but I still think it’s a wonderful cream for its price.
Product: 100/100 – I think you’ve got the message that I love this product! I think it delivers what it promises. It will be my go to moisturiser for the forseeable future. Well done Aldi
If you’re younger than me and not yet ready for this I suggest you treat your Mother’s or Aunties for Christmas – go on they deserve it!
