Breaking The Billiard Balls Of Your Morning

Each and every morning, we have an opportunity to craft a great headstart to the day. Of course, this might be influenced by certain factors. You might have had one too many cocktails with your work friends the night before, or that wailing cat on the street once again stopped you from having a nice night’s sleep. However, for this article we’re going to assume you’re waking up on a normal morning for you, perhaps before work, and ready for a busy day ahead.

It’s possible to start your day with enthusiasm or a sense of lethargy. The decisions you make in the first hour will contribute to how energetic you feel for the rest of the day. Lay in bed browsing through social media for thirty minutes, and it’s likely that crawling out of bed will feel less appealing than you initially thought. However, doing the following from the moment your foot hits the floor can help you get to grips with the day more comfortably:

Light Music

A little light music in the morning can help you wake up with a little more optimism. We’re not talking about the hardest hitting drum and bass, or the most intense uplifting techno music. Something relaxed, something low-key, and something to help nurture you into wakefulness is bound to be worthwhile. You might decide to play some soft jazz, or some classical music, or even some light morning talk radio. As you get out of bed, shower and start your day, you can be sure to have done so in a much more comfortable manner. There’s just something about music that profoundly affects our mood, and that can be a lifesaver in the morning.

Deep Breaths

Breathe deeply and stretch. Let your lungs fill and exhale gently. This can wake you up, as deep breathing is known to help with alertness. In the winter, relatively cool air filling your lungs can definitely feel refreshing and can help you start to adapt to the temperature outside of your duvet. A few deep breaths can mentally psyche you up to tiptoe the cold morning walk to the shower, or give you a few meditative moments to help your brain kick into gear. Try it. It’s free, easy and available to everyone.

Grooming

Taking care of yourself in the morning is important. Night showers are more than fine, but there’s nothing more refreshing than a morning shower, with cold water at the end if you’re brave enough. Taking care to shave, use skin care moisturizer, to perhaps do a little light exercise and stretching, and to wear your previously pressed and comfortable work uniform can help you feel ready and able for the day ahead. This can give you a true sense of optimism for the day, particularly if you get a healthy breakfast, and consider five things you’re grateful for. Then, everything has been taken into account, and you can start your day with optimism.

With these tips, breaking the billiard balls of your morning is sure to be a welcome effort.
